Welcome to my workshop.

My name is Meytal Ofer. I founded my workshop out of a big dream that I had been dreaming about for a very long time. It is a place where I combine the things I love most: art, paper cutting, and connecting with people.

I have been creating paper cuts since 2002, when I created a silhouette installation in which I illustrated my grandmother's memories of Germany from the 1930s and 1940s. Since then, the theme of personal memory and collective memory has accompanied me in my work, as well as in the workshops I teach.

Working with paper cutouts is a job that requires great precision and patience. It is a well-planned job, and yet it is a job that gives room for improvisation and surprise. When I conduct workshops, even if they are one-offs, the participants are always surprised by the beauty they can create with such simple means.

I am very happy to fulfill my dream and I am glad that you are partners in this dream.

Beyond my work, I am Rami's partner and mother to very sweet twins, Tamar and Hillel. I am also a professional chef (I have worked in the best restaurants in the country), create artistic-cultural projects that create connections between communities, and try to sip life in large sips.

The workshop is located in its new and permanent home in Kibbutz Bahan, at 3 Egoz Street. You are very welcome to come and visit!
